Welcome Back

I hope each one of you is looking forward to the start of a new year. 🙂 Depending upon the grade and class in which you are are currently studying, I will have different expectations as to how much participation is necessary on this blog. Grade 9 and grade 10, you will be expected to use this as a resource, finding the stories, poems and study guides available to you.  Grade 11, 12, English Literature and Writer’s Craft, you will be expected to post assignments on this site that are polished and open to constructive criticism.

EAE1D/P: Please note the link on short stories. This link contains all of the short stories we will be reading. You will notice each one of the stories has a study guide. It is up to you to complete the study guide; they are there to aid you in understanding the story. However, please be aware that questions on the pop quizzes, quizzes and final exam about the short stories will come from these study guides. Pop quizzes are just that. I will not give you warning as to when they will occur; be aware that if we study a short story one day, a pop quiz could occur the next. If you have any questions, make sure to ask in class or post your question on this site.

In addition, EAE4U only, be thinking about your area of study for this semester; choose a topic which you find interesting, meaningful or useful. It may be related to what you are plannning to study at university or college or just a subject which holds your interest and in which you wish to further your knowledge. Be aware that you will have to have found a minimum of three books (at least one non-fiction and one fiction) on your topic. Additional resources will also be required. Your must have your resources chosen by the 17th of September or you will be assigned a topic and books by the teacher.
